وتشدد مؤسسة تصحيح على أن هذه الحادثة المؤلمة تفرض مسؤولية عاجلة على جميع الجهات الفاعلة في مجال العمل الإنساني ونزع الألغام، لاتخاذ إجراءات فورية وشاملة، بعيدًا عن التدخلات المحدودة، بما يضمن حماية الأرواح ومنع تكرار مثل هذه الكوارث.
وعليه، توجه المؤسسة نداءً عاجلًا إلى:
الجهات الدولية المعنية بنزع الألغام ومخلفات الحرب لتوسيع نطاق المسح الميداني الطارئ في قرية الريبي والمناطق المحيطة بها في مديرية حجر – محافظة الضالع.
تسريع عمليات الإزالة في المناطق السكنية ومحيط المدارس والطرقات الزراعية.
تعزيز برامج التوعية المجتمعية بمخاطر الألغام ومخلفات الحرب، خصوصًا للأطفال والأسر في المناطق الريفية.
وتؤكد المؤسسة أن حماية المدنيين ليست خيارًا، بل التزام قانوني وأخلاقي وإنساني لا يحتمل التأجيل، وأن أي تأخير في الاستجابة يعني استمرار فقدان المزيد من الأرواح البريئة.

Urgent Statement of Condemnation and Denunciation

The Correction Foundation for Humanitarian Development expresses its deep sorrow and grave concern regarding the tragic incident that occurred in Al-Ribi Village, Hajar District, Al-Dhalea Governorate, which resulted in children killed and injured due to the explosion of a remnant of war. This represents yet another humanitarian tragedy added to the ongoing suffering of local communities in conflict-affected areas.
The Foundation strongly condemns this incident and emphasizes that the continued presence of landmines and unexploded ordnance poses a direct and severe threat to civilian lives, particularly children. It also highlights critical gaps in systematic survey and clearance operations in areas close to populated communities.
The Correction Foundation stresses that this painful incident places urgent responsibility on all actors involved in mine action and humanitarian response to take immediate, comprehensive, and large-scale measures, rather than limited or fragmented interventions, to ensure the protection of lives and prevent further tragedies.
Accordingly, the Foundation issues an urgent appeal to:
Relevant international mine action organizations to expand emergency survey operations in Al-Ribi Village and surrounding areas in Hajar District, Al-Dhalea Governorate.
Accelerate clearance operations in residential areas, as well as around schools and agricultural roads.
Strengthen community awareness programs on the dangers of landmines and explosive remnants of war, especially targeting children and rural families.
The Foundation affirms that the protection of civilians is not an option, but a legal, moral, and humanitarian obligation that cannot be delayed. Any postponement of response means further loss of innocent lives.
